Dear Friends –
It’s been a bit since I’ve written!
Between super-fulfilling projects for my clients, planning for a fresh year, family, and the holidays – I woke up this morning with a smile. It’s the last day of this significant decade.
But let me reflect for a moment before we zoom into 2020.
✨ The ’10’s (feels weird saying that – glad we’re done) were personally fulfilling and proudly challenging. During this decade, Joe and I had three healthy children, we celebrated 10 years of marriage, I worked with my awesome clients and was able to volunteer with key community members on projects to improve Hilton Head. Projects that made a difference related to bicycling, historic preservation, safety initiatives, parks and recreation, and the 350/30 community celebration.
? In 2019, I’ve been able to share what matters (to me) on our Island with all of YOU. We’ve chatted about everything from Town Opportunities to Community Celebrations to Visionary Challenges and much in-between. I thank you for reading and responding, either by forwarding this email or replying with your thoughts – and I look forward to exploring more in 2020.
? So let’s kick off 2020 with an Island beach party! Join locals (Island visitors welcome too!) on New Years Day to dip-in, laugh or people-watch at Coligny Beach for the annual Polar Plunge! This FREE and FUN event starts at 11am. Everyone is welcome + costumes are appreciated ?. Donations will be accepted for the Naturalist Program through Community Foundation of the Lowcountry to continue sharing Charli Bobinchuck’s love for our Island critters. I love FUN events like this – highlighting our unique assets and bringing our community together! I hope you’ll come out. View WJCL’s coverage of the event below.
? Another happening in early January is the newly formed Southender Soup Appreciation Society #SSAS! The brainchild between myself and Southender Maga’zin’er, Matt Stock, #SSAS is a lunch group meet-up for anyone who loves soup, just like we do. We’ve hosted two sessions with strong attendance – everyone from retirees to tattoo artists to paralegals to musicians – enjoying each other’s company over a bowl of soup. Attend our next #SSAS meet-up at Skillets in Coligny on Wednesday, January 8th from noon – 2pm. Drop-in or stay the entire time, everyone is welcome in this FUN environment where you’ll meet new friends. View the recap video from the Sandbar Beach Eats below.
✔️ Before sign off, I want to share my word of the year with you – FUN! This will be my focus and guidance for 2020. What will your word of the year be?
